A team of pupils and a team of teachers from the school will take on the Team Relay Race this May Day to raise much-needed funds for learning disability charity, Mencap Northern Ireland, the official charity partner of the Belfast City Marathon.

During a recent photo call, pupils from Nendrum College received a very special message Northern Ireland striker and Mencap Ambassador, Josh Magennis, who wished them good luck in their training and fundraising.

Nendrum College have been a huge support to Mencap over the past few years raising a total of £1000 in 2017 for the charity.

Mr Williams, Teacher at Nendrum College said:

"We are very proud that so many of our staff and pupils have decided to take on the Team Relay Race at this year’s Belfast City Marathon in aid of Mencap Northern Ireland we are calling on the public to join us and Move It For Mencap on 7th May."

Margaret Kelly, Director of Mencap Northern Ireland added: 

"We would like to say a huge thanks to all the staff and pupils from Nendrum College who are taking on the Team Relay Race at the Belfast City Marathon, we are very proud that they continue to support us through their fundraising efforts.

"They help us to deliver our vital services to adults and children with a learning disability across Northern Ireland."
