The Youth Forum meet regularly at the Mencap Centre in Belfast and provides opportunities for young people aged between 16-25 years old to socialise and take part in events and projects.

Some of the projects we have completed are: film project, ICT project, young ambassador training and internet safety training.

It is a chance for young people to meet and build new friendships and learn new information about each other. On a regular basis we meet on a Friday Night and have different activities such as quizzes, baking, gaming and music.

The Youth Forum would support other workstreams with events and activities such as campaigns, fundraising and communications.

My Not So Ordinary Life

The storyline for My Not So Ordinary Life was developed by a group of 12 young people from Mencap's Youth Forum in Belfast.

The group felt it was really important to raise awareness of this, as younger and older people with a learning disability can become invisible in society.
