The NI Census happens every 10 years and asks everyone in Northern Ireland to TAKE PART.
The Census asks questions about all the people, households and what they do.
We want to encourage everyone with a learning disability, their family or their residential setting to take part in the census this year.
Mencap NI want to promote social inclusion and increase the participation of people with a learning disability and their families in the NI Census 2021.
Increased participation will also provide more accurate statistics and information for the Northern Ireland Government to help plan future services for people with a learning disability.
It will also help Mencap NI to campaign in the future for more support services in the community.
The information will help to decide how services are planned and funded in your local area.
Things like doctors’ surgeries, housing or new bus routes.
It asks questions about you and your household.
It looks at who we are and how we live and provides important information about us, our society and what we need in the future.
NI Census Day is on Sunday 21 March 2021.
You can take part online, by phone or ask for a census form to be posted to your home.
