As presenting partner of Parasport.org.uk, Toyota are working with ParalympicsGB, Sport NI and Mencap NI to improve the quality and quantity of accessible sports and activities available to people in Northern Ireland through the Toyota Parasport Fund.
The Toyota Parasport Fund is a UK-wide funding programme to improve the quality and quantity of sport and activities available to people with a learning disability and physical impairments.
The Fund will enable the delivery of Mencap's Learning Disability Awareness Training across multiple sports and leisure facilities in Northern Ireland.
This training will be delivered by Mencap’s Disability Equality Officers who have first-hand experience of living with a learning disability.
The training will improve accessibility in sports and leisure facilities by providing staff within these facilities with a greater understanding and awareness of learning disability.
In addition, a selection of Toyota staff will be invited to attend training sessions that may be taking place within the vicinity of their Toyota dealership.
