Our vision is a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included in society.
Your rights in hospital
With Bradford Talking Media, Bradford People First and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, we have made resources to help ensure that children with a learning disability (aged 0 to 5) get the support they need when they are in hospital and how reasonable adjustments can be made.
There are 2 resources about getting the right care in hospital; one for parents and carers (PDF), and one for healthcare professionals (PDF).

Have your voice heard

SEN consultation - Have your say!
A public consultation has been announced by the Department of Education NI to improve education provision for children and young people with special needs.
The Education (Special Educational Needs) Regulations is the name of the new law that the government wants to put in place.
The new law will mean changes to how support is given to children and young people with special educational needs.
Mencap NI welcome this consultation and encourage everyone to take part and have their say. The consultation closes at 5pm on Tuesday 2 March 2021.
